The dramatic arias and complex rhythms of Carl Orff’s medieval cantataCarmina Burana are renowned for being tough to pull off — and even tougher to fully realize within the confines of a concert hall. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic brings a whole season’s worth of musical momentum to the challenge, combining the might of the Colorado Springs Chorale and the Children’s Chorale for a tour de force performance of this ancient meditation on fickle fortune, fleeting life, and the joy of the return of Spring.
